These dialogues are probably the most accessible philosophy ever written. The midwife-of-ideas analogy was pretty brilliant.
Dante was expecting his A-levels results when all of a sudden, his ex-girlfriend Melanie appeared before his doorstep. With a baby girl named Emma. Who was his daughter, no less. Just when Dante thought that the biggest bomb had been dropped on him, Melanie left the house, claiming that she needed to get diapers for Emma. Only, she did not return half an hour later, like she was supposed to. A heartwarming story that shows how blood is really, thicker than water. Although, I would have to say that I disliked Dante at the start, when all he was thinking about was how to get rid of baby Emma and how she was just a 'fence' blocking in between him and his future. Though, he managed to get over it quickly - a little too quickly, in my opinion - and steadily became more of a father to Emma.
