I am starting to rethink my decision to read the Discworld books in order. I see in many reviews that Pratchett's craft is thought to be much improved in his later books, which is encouraging, because I wasn't overly impressed with The Light Fantastic. Sure, there are some hilarious scenes, like Death (definitely my favorite character so far) playing bridge with War, Famine, and Pestilence, but the pace felt too fast and the jokes got repetitive.
