I loved the the first half of this book. I found the narrative to be compelling, the characters to be fascinating, and the setting to provide the perfect atmosphere for this tale of lost love and murder. That being said I didn't enjoy the second half of the book told from Aaron's perspective. It is well worth slogging through to get to the end, however, I would have enjoyed it much more if I could have seen the entire novel through Krista's eyes.

A man, Jeff Winston, dies of a heart attack at age 43, then wakes up as his 18 year old self and relives his adult life again. He 'replays' his life several times, and although he can make different choices and lead different lives, he always dies again at age 43. When the first replay began for Jeff at age 18 in 1963 I was afraid the story would revolve around boomer nostalgia and how great the sixties were and how the seventies and eighties sucked. You know what I mean...blech. Fortunately the story was not like that. It is a thoughtful look on the choices and compromises we make in our lives, a tale of love and loss.
