This was my first book by Dean Koontz. It has all the elements he became famous for in his later best-sellers. Hero, damsel, dog, distress. Not necessarily in that order. It's also interesting to compare where society currently is in regards to genetic research and to see where Dean's head was on the topic 22 years ago. This book is up there with Michael Crichton's NEXT.
