I reread this for one of my local clubs and was happy to revisit with Anne on this gorgeous island. Every time that I have read it I always vow to make Prince Edward Island one of my upcoming travel destinations, but for some reason I have never followed through. This book really does make you want to visit the island as the island and its scenery become such an integral part of the book. Anne as always is so much fun - impetuous, determined, opinionated but so filled with imagination and a thirst for knowledge and adventure. This book continues to be one of my overall favorite YA books, a must read for young girls and a delightful read and/or reread for all ages. I cannot imagine anyone who would not immediately fall for the irresistible Anne, spelled with an "e". And both Matthew and Marilla have to join Anne on my overall favorite list of characters.
