-Percy Jackon realizes that he is the son of a mortal mother and the Sea God Poseidan. He finds out he is not the only “demigod” in the U.S. There are many others and they go to a special summer camp in NY: Camp Half-Blood. -Percy is challenged right a way. He has to go on a quest. He must find the Zeus’ stolen thunderbolt and return it to him, or else a war between the Gods will erupt. -Throughout the book, Percy has to fend of monsters and survive hair raising situations. However, he does realize that this is what he was meant to do.
