I think this book is a must-read for all teens. In today's society we need to learn empathy and this book can help. J has known "forever" that he is male but was born incorrectly as female. Now, at age 17, he has decided to do something about it--he learns about T (injectible testosterone), runs away from home, stays with other "homeless" question teens at a shelter and attends a school that focuses on helping these teens attain their goals and education. J does find a home, meet friends, form his own unique family and many more things and this book shows his struggle to get there. Nothing in life comes easily but if you really want it, it can happen.
