I've been fascinated with Frank Lloyd Wright. He had a larger than life personality. This book covers his relationships with two (of three) wives and one mistress. The interesting thing about the book is that it goes backwards in time and is narrated by one of his apprentices at Talesin. The only criticism I have of the book is that it may be helpful for other readers to know generally how the timeline of FLW's various projects and relationships but this is a really good read.
Another excellent Harry Bosch novel! Connelly continues to develop Bosch's character and we see a seasoned and more subdued Harry, who is trying to raise a teenage daughter. He is also faced with retirement in the near future. (Say it ain't so. I can't live without my yearly doses of Harry.) Of course, Harry solves a case, but for me it was his relationship with his partner, the high "jingo" of politics, the possibility of a new love and Harry's ethics that take center stage in this novel. Do I really have to wait until next November for another Bosch?
