Dead Center was actually an audio book for me. It was read by Grover Gardner who is an excellent reader. He added a lot to the character. After a murder, a sarcastic lawyer, Andy Carpenter, goes to Wisconsin to help an ex-girlfriend solve a case. He has a dog and is really amusing when the author has him do thinking. I found this book to be amusing as well as a great mystery. I'd like to read more of his novels.
