Thought the story began very well - showed the impact of one person on the lives of many. However, I had a REAL hard time with Mrs. God talking behind Mr. God's back about what a screwup he is. It was just a little too much for me -- and I chose not to finish the book. If you like Fanny Flagg, you will enjoy this book. However, I did not.
This books is pretty solid but that is coming from someone that not only thinks Delillo can do no wrong but also frequents the street after which the book is named. I thought the most impressive part of this book is that by being just general enough regarding the 'genre' of the music Wunderlick plays, Delillo successfully makes the book seem as though it could have been written recently. A sharp book but in no way does it capture the surreal, anxious feel that Delillo creats in White Noise.
