Originally, I wasn't looking forward to reading this book. It was an assigned reading for eng./lit. and I expected it to be as complicated and tedious to read as all the other forced-reads. I was pleasantly surprised however. This book is engaging for a the most part and tells a good story. Plus, since it's a part of history, I thought it to be beneficial while interesting. Good writing, nice story! It was also sort of a comforting book in the way that it dealt with so many types of explainable love, and that was what made it interesting as well, from another aspect.
