Steam & Sorcery by Cindy Spencer Pape was so much fun!!! I was sorry to see it end. This book was packed with all things urban, paranormal and steampunk with a variety of creatures like vampyres and knights. The main character Caroline becomes a governess to Sir Merrick (a Knight for the Order of the Round Table) five orphaned street children (whom he calls "urchins"). Each of the children has a special gift (I especially loved Wink and her clockwork animals). Caroline soon finds herself attracted to Merrick and becomes closer to his children all while hunting monsters both human and nonhuman. Highly recommended.
It didn't need to have an "ism" for one thing. I also wondered why the last chapter was included in the book because it was much less engaging than the rest of the book. I enjoyed the book overall but it's message was rather simple and it probably didn't need the 263 pages that it took to spell it out.
I was forced into reading this book and o be honest i didnt care for it at all...It was a waste of time
