One my favorite Tess Gerritsen books. She writes with such descriptive details that it scared me when I was reading it.
I forgot how good this book was! The biggest reason I approve of this dystopia is that there is an actual explanation for what caused it. Most dystopian novels somehow forget to mention why the world is how it is, and although you don't find out until almost the end of the book, you do get an explanation. I'm on the fence about the Pretty operation, though. I'm not sure whether I would be eager to do it or run away like Shay does. One thing about this book is that everything goes by quickly. Sure, this book might be over 400 pages, but everything happens very rapidly. I have mixed feelings for Tally, as well. I know she didn't really have a choice in the matter, and she had only known Shay for three months before it happened, but I don't know if I could turn in my friend and an entire secret civilization for the sake of turning pretty.
