Tim O'Brien is an amazing author. His stories are so real.
The beginning of the book makes some insufficiently supported claims about the biological basis for gendered conflict styles, but I found the anecdotes from the authors' experiences to be enlightening.
Even though the narrator was not (to me at least) sympathetic in the least, the book offers an interesting exploration of midlife confusion -- with some occasionally surprising twists. Because you're given only the narrator's perceptions, it takes some time to see where her limits and weaknesses lie. Worth reading.
