I read this when I was stuck in Cusco for an extra because of rain and fog. I was suffering from altitude sickness and an unshakable chill so I was not happy to be going back to my hotel. Luckily, I found this on the shelf at my hostel so I spent the evening in my warm bed and read the ENTIRE book that evening. I'm a fast reader but it's a pretty thick book. I knew I had to finish it that night since I was leaving for Lima in the morning. As always, Mosley didn't let me done. It was an engaging story with a great character. I love the moral dilemmas Mosley's characters go through.
