I remember my mother reading this to me when I was seven or eight. Every night she would read a chapter, and though I could read pretty well for my age, I would give up following along after a few minutes and just listen to the story and stare at the illustrations. I've read it since, but I hope I never forget my first encounter with Sarah Crewe.
