This sequel is darker than its predecessor and highlights the constraints of Victorian society better as it places the characters in London rather than the confines of the finishing school. I loo forward to finishing the trilogy.
Morgan's best, and scariest. "This is the face of the brand new Britain/blinkers on their eyes" indeed.
There were entertaining parts, but after a while I was just so over her whining.
I think, 4 stars will give justice as my rating; not a perfect one but definitely a fantastic series I ever read. The plot of betrayal, deceit, victory and honor continues to this book, while everyone has the taking for the crown claiming the seat on the iron throne. Again, characters you love are being killed that's why better not to dwell on them. GRRM does it again! sustaining the suspense, fantasy and thrill, he does it all to make you stick reading to the end. I will no longer discuss how this book put much on my preference. Anyone who loves complexity in characters and plot which will leave you in thought, and not just the cliche of "good versus evil"; will love this series. Will definitely go on with Book3 "a storm of swords"; guess what? i'm now on the 1st chapter:)
