A wonderfully comprehensive, historically accurate biography of a controversial figure. The clear sympathy for the class of royals one might assume is due to the aristocratic heritage of the author. I'm sure a biography of this same subject, written by a less privileged author might display a little less reverence for that particular system. Marie Antoinette here is portrayed as a hard-working, intelligent, and dedicated woman and becomes, over the course of the biography, immensely sympathetic, even to a prole like me.
Soon as i figure out how to get a copy of this, I'll be very happy. Update - YAY! It's now available on Audible in Australia..
