I've always had a love hate relationship with classic novels as I feel this great need to read them because I know they are so great, but because of my lack of concentration it often takes me ages to finish or I lose interest, but this was one of those ones, like Bronte's Jane Eyre, that I found it a pleasure to read and I look forward to reading even more Austen in the near future!
The book read very slow at some points. It would seem the story would pick up and then just hit a brick wall! Reads more as historical nonfiction rather than historical fiction.
