Fantastic book. Again, (as per my last book review) it was published in 2008 so how the financial crisis may or may not change what is written is hard to tell. It is written by a man who is Indian (as in India, not Native American). He grew up in India, came to America to study and stayed. It is nice to have an "outsider's" perspective sometimes. This book gives a good picture of how the future might shape up. Might. Because of course no ones knows what will happen. But it looks to China to see what is going on there, to India to see there and then this author states what he thinks America's strengths and weaknesses are and how those might shape our place in the world in the world to come. I think more Americans need to start getting used to the idea that other countries can become equal partners to us on the world stage without threatening our way of life and our ideals and confidence in who we are as a country. Great book. And a pretty fast read.
the one that started it all.
