I loooove this book; in fact, I read it about once per year. I love Pearson's dry writing style; she's better than Helen Fielding when it comes to hilarious British chick lit. But it's not your typical chick lit; these characters are super relatable and even if you don't agree with their actions, you are rooting for them. I love Kate Reddy, the main character in this book. She is a wife, mother of two and has a high-powered job in London as a hedge fund manager. It sounds like a boring plot (working mom tries to balance work, power and mothering while inadvertently ignoring her husband), but listening in on Kate's thoughts, banter with colleagues and conversations with other mothers, is so entertaining. At certain points in the book, you do feel sorry for her and other times you want to smack her, but deep down you can't help but love her. The ending is so sweet it makes your heart burst. I love this book! Update: This book has been made into a movie starring Sarah Jessica Parker and it opens 9/16/11!!! BAHHHHHHH I cannot wait!
