I shouldn't have googled about the upcoming movie version of this book until I was finished. I couldn't stop thinking of Patrick Dempsey as Denny Swift and that made the book feel melodramatic ala tv soap opera. I have a feeling I'll like the movie better than the book and of course will bring a couple boxes of tissues. I don't regret reading this, but am glad I had a plane ride to concentrate on it and finish quickly.
