I'm not usually much for sci-fi, but most of this book is set in medieval Europe, in the throes of the black plague...and I do get a kick out of historical fiction.

I really enjoyed reading this book. The pictures are fantastic and could be great tools for teaching students about the Civil Rights Movement. I think that kids could relate to the book more because of all the kid interviews. It makes the topic more relevant to their lives when they see that other children have an interest in this critical time in American history.
