I read this book in 1 day, mostly in the Barnes and Noble where I picked it up (don't worry, I bought it). Despite mocking his dialogue, I do love Lehane's suspense novels. This book is like Lost on crack.
A gorgeous historical fiction in true Allende form. Great characters, vivid description. I read it instead of watching the movie on my flight home (a shocking occurence, really).
