Kalal Zakaria Zakaria থেকে Piotrkowice Wielkie, Poland
A good read, if a little spotty at times. Pohl obviously knows his way around Science, and he's created a really interesting, deeply flawed anti-hero of a main character. Robinette Broadhead is one of the better characters I've come across in Sci-Fi in quite a while, and his main story is deeply compelling; darn near riveting. This is intercut with frustrating segments of the main character talking to an electronic shrink, which are painfully slow and take forever to get anywhere. Now, when these scenes DO get somewhere, they're pretty interesting, but until then, they're just dull. Broadhead's acting obstinate and diversionary seems like a prolonging tactic. On the whole though, a really good read with a really great payoff at the end. Pretty hardcore sci-fi, but good characters and great situations.
