This was a fantastic book. From the perspective of someone who lived in the 1950's or so without specifying a date. But you can tell. The only thing that bothered be about this book was the few references to specific person with what was most certainly mental retardation on some level. These references were very derogatory, but again, given the time it was written, I assume this was the norm. Aside from that, it was very good and thought provoking.
To be truly honest, I still do not really understand the morale of this book; I was just interested behind the history of the Spanish civil war.
