Fast paced and completely out of control!! Wow, now that’s what I call entertainment! Sarah Alderson spared no expense in delivering an explosive story filled with tons of action, constant intrigue and a strong cast of characters, some of which have a few supernatural powers up their sleeve. What more can you ask for? Hunting Lila felt like a wild adventure on the brink of spiraling out of control at every turn of the page. Definitely entertaining! In this book we meet Lila who has a secret she’s been hiding for the past four years. She has this supernatural ability to move objects by sheer mental will, and when she uses that power to protect herself against an attack, she packs her stuff and flees out of the country and into the protection of her brother and his best friend. However, as she learns more about the secret organization they work for and how this military unit has been helping her brother catch their mother’s murderer, Lila discovers there’s a web of deceit behind every hidden corner and trying to figure out who she can trust is not as easy as moving objects. I really liked the two main characters Lila and Alex. There was a ton of chemistry between these two and the buildup was nothing short of sweet torture. I did struggle a bit with how Lila’s brother Jack and Alex continually kept secrets from Lila, but it was refreshing to see a strong character such as Lila break down barrier after barrier to uncover the truth. The story ends in a mild cliffy, but I have to say, after reading over 300 pages of constant action, I definitely need a mental break. ~sweet head spin~ However, I can’t wait for Alderson’s next release. Count me in!
