'FELICIA'S JOURNEY' was a sad novel from the viewpoint of Felicia, but worrisome and concerning wondering what Mr. Hilditch was up to. Felicia is a 17 year old girl from Ireland who meets Johnny and becomes pregnant. Johnny must leave Ireland and go back to his home in England but before he dashes off, Felicia is unable to obtain his address. Felicia leaves Ireland on her own and arrives in England in search of Johnny so she can tell him she is pregnant with their child. Felicia only believes that Johnny works in a lawn mower factory. She sets out in search of factories and is disappointed when the first one she finds has never heard of Johnny. Mr. Hilditch is a fat, canteen catering manager who runs into Felicia at his place of work. Felicia tells Mr. Hilditch that she is looking for lawn mower factories but he cannot help her. Mr. Hilditch, unbeknownst to Felicia, likes to befriend homeless young girls and he sets out to observe and trap Felicia into his clutches. What ensues will keep you reading and reading until the end!!

As a huge fan of Megan Hart's,I was really looking forward to this short story from her. After it taking me only about 45 minutes to read it from beginning to end, I have to say it fell a little flat for me. Kendall Frasier has been forced by the FBI to take a mandatory two weeks off after she witnesses the accidental shooting of her partner. Kendall joins a dozen or more FBI agents on a trip to an exotic island where they are to engage in physical examinations, therapy sessions, and pure relaxation. She is furious to find out that Agent Zane Vincent, the man responsible for killing her partner, has also been made to go on this trip. Kendall cannot deny the attraction that she feels towards Zane and as luck would have it, the two of them end of sharing a cottage together. I love the way that Megan Hart writes her characters. Her characters are so full of realistic emotions and feelings that you feel like you are reading a story about someone you know personally. No detail is left out when she sets the stage for her characters and it's very easy to become attached to them. Friendly Fire was no exception. I immediately felt pain for Kendall as she struggled with her true feelings regarding her partners' death as well as with Zane and the demons he had to deal with at being the cause of such a tragedy. The buildup of sexual tension between Zane and Kendall is sizzling, when it came down to them finally being together, it was WAY too quick. I wanted more! It seemed after the two of them finally gave in to their mutual attraction, that everything was rushed along and that part definitely fell flat for me. Having said that, I realize that this is a short story, not a full length novel and length limitations may apply, but still, I missed the detailed love scenes. Overall, this was a decent read and I still am a faithful fan of Megan Hart's and look forward to reading many more of her stories! Three and a half stars. This book was supplied to me via NetGalley
