Much came from the Dutch rather than the Puritans and Pilgrims! For anyone interested in this era or who has, like me, ancestors who lived in Dutch New York, this is really insightful and interesting. Might be worthwhile also for those who live on Manhattan Island or in Breukelen or near the Bouwerie or Greenwyck Village or Nieuw Haarlem.
