Eh. Two stars seems kinda like *gasp* That's a bad review. But really the comment under two stars says: It was ok. That's what this was. OK. It started out with a tinge of disappointment because the most annoying character in the first book was back in the second. Then the tide turned. It became a bit Northanger Abbey with murder and intrigue and a hint of maybe-she's-crazy :) :) :) As long as that kept up I kept reading. Then the mystery was solved....and I still had more than 30 pages of book left. Which drug on a bit. I was so ready for this book to be over so I could move on to something else.
What an amazing woman! Lawyer/judge turned activist in Iran. You may know her as the lawyer who took on the case of Zahra Kezemi (the Canadian journalist who was kiled in Iran). This is her first hand account of becoming disillusioned with the revolution, becoming an activist, imprisonment and why she and her family have chosen to stay.
This book is a classic in my house.Every christmas eve this was read to me as a child.It is an unforgetable tale.
