I must admit, I don't tend to read short story collections. I took a chance on this one because of the critical praise, including the Pulitzer. I am so happy that I did. Every word in every story is perfectly placed. There is nothing extraneous yet also nothing confusing/unclear. Tight, crisp, fresh.
