I loved this book. Saunders offers a healthy mix of comic criticism of a society drunk on consumption and besieged by marketing, poignant political allegory, and truly beautiful and heartrending stories of loss and humanity. Also, in almost all of the pieces, there is this common aesthetic--this purposeful use of words and sentences--that reminds the reader that, as in all times of political peril, our language may be in serious decline.
