This book is simply amazing. It is two books; the narrative of a journey across country by father and son, as well as Robert Pirsig's philosophical exploration of his "metaphysics of quality", which runs in turns with the narrative of the actual journey. Once the reader invests in the first 90 pages, the reward becomes clear. As Pirsig states, it isn't about Zen or motorcycle maintenance. A must read for the intellectually, spiritually, and simply curious.
