I would give this three and a half stars if I could. It was a pleasant read with many interesting facts interspersed among a very readable narrative. While I agree with Safina, I felt like the book got awfully preachy at the end. Maybe could have used a bit of editing there. Besides the style, though, I really liked that the author saw signs of hope and reported some nice recovery stories. Since I just moved to NYC this was especially interesting to me since Lazy Point is on Long Island. I will look for other works by this author.
