Good book, kept me interested especially in the first half, I felt like he was writing in a hurry sometimes to get to the story or to explain some things and some things never did get explained to my satisfaction. I guess that isn't where he wanted to focus the story on. Slightly dissatisfied in the end, I suppose it was left open for a sequel?
I liked this book enough to want to read the next in the series. Even towards the end, I was still struggling with the names of the non-main characters, but I may have let my brain relax on those b/c I knew there was a reference list of all the characters at the front of the book. The main issue I had though, which kept me from giving this book more stars, was that over and over, Ms. Hobb would say the same thing. Almost word for word! I'd read one paragraph and then several chapters later I'd read pretty much the exact same paragraph. It caused me to stop and try to figure out if I had accidentally opened the book to the wrong page...even when I hadn't put the book down. I have hopes for the next book though.
