This book was weird, and I feel ambivalent about it. It's a series of disconnected anecdotes and observations about life, from the mundane to the divine. I didn't really enjoy reading it, but I kept going because every now and then there was a wonderful passage. Some of my favorites were the descriptions of the terra cotta soldiers buried in dirt, the 3- and 5-year-old children with "short legs", and the explanation of sand. But what was with all the clouds? And Talmud scholars? And cliché discussions about large numbers being incomprehensible? Meh.
