My favorite tale is the Pardoner's. It has kind of a film noir ending, where co-conspiriters in an unsavory enterprise turn on each other, and nobody ends up with the loot. Reminds me of the Asphalt Jungle and The Killing. The edition I read has only ten of the tales. I'd like to read the other tales.

In my opinion, A Thousand Sons is arguably the best book of the HH series so far. It is a tragedy on an epic scale. I was so invested in the characters that even though there was no doubt as to the outcome, I still found myself hoping they would escape the fall to Chaos. As far as I'm concerned, 5 stars is the only option here.
