This book tried to tug at my heartstrings but never brought it home for me. I know better than to try the long lost love books so it is really my fault. These plots rarely have a good enough reason for abandoning their love with no contact for years and this one is no differnt. Aidan takes off and abandons his best friend one day after realizing that Ethan is also the love of his life. 13 years later after securing a job back in his hometown, Aidan returns and expects to pick up where they left off. Not suprisingly, Ethan is not too thrilled with that plan. Suprisingly, he does not forgive him instantly. At least in this story the situation is not fogiven and forgotten a few minutes after the reunion. Ethan does make Aiden work for it but eventually both boys do reconcile as you would expect. The sex was hot but the revelation about Aidan's lack of experience at 31 was surprising and ended up being throw away information, since neither ever really discuss it. I felt it was information intended to manipulate the reader to feel that Aidan did penance while voluntarily exiled. This book is angsty and emotional with a lot of hot sex (real and fantasy) and it very well written. If that is what you are looking for, you will find it in this book. For me, it isn't enough when I don't respect the characters choices.
