How lovely to be reunited with my old 'Tales' friends as we all get older. Charmed - as ever
Very funny, contains the warmth of our daily life details.although I bought it as a cheap novel written in english to read a few pages, I couldn't resist to finish it!
This is really about looking at things in a different way at its simplest. It is a first-person narrative used to explain a philosophy of seeing the world in a different way....or more precisely, in seeing how you see. I dig it.
Enjoyed the read. Grisham owns this genre. He invites the reader, like the priest, to explore the trial and tribulation of the finality of the death penalty. He paints characters you love and colors in the ones you hate. No one is really good or entirely bad. I enjoy the chaotic good and lawful evil nature of those many characters. The convicted rapist and true killer of the fallen cheerleader. The condemned innocent man Donte Drummin facing injustice. The reluctant priest facing being defrocked due to bad press by the church who has faced serious scandal. The angry losing defending lawyer and the professional pols that look to maintain residency in the governorship. Whether one is for or against the death penalty, it is a page turner.
