I thought this book was absolute bullshit at first. The author speaks of how women are depicted in images (quite chauvenistically) but his tone makes it seem like he is speaking of women in reality. He makes comments like a woman can't throw a glass for the sake of expressing emotion, that it always means something else like this is how she wishes to be treated. and that if a man throws a glass it is simply expressing anger. So really it makes it seem like he has this big negative attitude toward women. Upon further inspection I have decided that what he is really saying is this is how it is in the world of images, and don't you think that is fucked? Yes, Berger, it is fucked. But thats how it goes.
