This is a really good story. Beautiful and heartbreaking. You know from the begining that no good will come to any of these women, but they still have a sad kind of hope. Don't read this one if you are feeling down, it will take a long time to get over it.
WOW! How else could I describe this book? I clearly have a thing for historical fiction cause the books I've read so far I totally love. Sandra Gulland has a knack for details and wonderful character scripting. This is as juicy and addictive to read as a book can get. I stayed up till 8 am reading, and I wanted to read even more after that! Not much of a book review but this is one where you really have to read it yourself. I kept seeing it in the book store and was a bit curious. Then one day I gave in and picked it up. Hooked from page one. I can't wait to read the rest of her stuff.
