My friend gave this to me to read because she knows how I love this time period. I havent gotten very far yet, but so far...it is fantastic! I almost started crying today in Health class while reading it! Edit: So while this book is heart wrenching and great, it is also very sexual. I was unaware of how sexual it really was, and so if you have a problem with that...I recommend not reading it. But the stories were touching and it really made me think about that whole time period and all the suffering that went on.
