Even though this was an Oprah book, it's pretty good. Family history told kind of as a soap opera, yet knowing it really happened is compelling. Tademy brings 3 female ancestors to life successfully.
This book and its companion, Doomsday Book, are hands-down the most enjoyable sci-fi novels I've ever read. Time travel, by Oxford historians of the future determined to altruistically preserve the fabric of time! The River Cam! Victorian intrigue! There's just nothing not to like. Plus also, best title ever.
