It was an adventure to read this book. Crispin is called Asta's son after his mother Asta and doesn't even know his real name until after she dies and he is left to himself. The steward of the town pronounced that he was a wolf head which is a person who is hunted and kild on sight. He runs for his life and stumbles on a man called bear and claims Crispin as his slave. They have many adventures together and find the true identity of Crispin. This book keeps you interested and engaged.
I LOVED this book. The Kingsolvers spent a year trying to only eat things that were produced organically near where they lived, and this is the story of that year. I really like Barbara Kingsolver's writing style--the chapter on zucchini was hysterical, especially for anyone who has ever grown zucchini. The book also made me aware of food choices that I make and their impact on the world. I own this book and anyone is welcome to borrow it.
