I don't know why, but I wasn't expecting this book to be nearly as disturbing as it was. I enjoyed it though -- it was funny, awkward, touching, and painful all at the same time. I'm intrigued about the movie that came out a couple years ago; I think it will be interesting to see how they interpreted this into a movie.
