"How do you know whether someone has read the Game of Thrones books?" "Don't worry. They'll tell you." Hah. I can finally count myself among the sniffy few. I saw the TV series before I read the book and I must say the TV series is amazingly accurate. Having said that, of course the book provides more detail and colour. One note of critique: Martin suffers from the same ailment one of my favorite authors (Diana Gabaldon) does: the naming game. On every page there are about three or four names mentioned. The fact that I saw the TV series meant I knew which ones to take note of, but I hope it won't become a problem in later volumes.
