this book is great. Although it's written by a Christian author, it's not like most Christian books I've read. Anne Lamott does a great job telling her not so perfect personal story all the while sharing how her faith strengthens over time. She doesn't sound "preachy"---I think she wrote the book in such a way that you feel it's just another life story but you're learning about Christianity at the same time. I especially like the ending. Sometimes I feel that books try to close with a "bang" and end up making the ending so complicated that you wish the author had just wrote a part 2 to it. Anne Lamott doesn't do that---she closes the book just right where you really feel like that's all she wanted you to know and nothing more.
