Lover Mine is book #8 in J.R. Ward's vampire romance/action series of books. The books build on each other. The characters become more complex with more back-story and vampire lore history with each book. Lover Mine is one of the longer books and a lot of story is pack between the five hundred-plus pages. The main characters of this book are Xhex, John Matthew, Lash, the Omega, and a back story about Darius and Torrhent. It a very engrossing read and my only complaint is that it is so long it took several sittings to read it through and I was anxious to find out the outcomes of the plot lines! As with the other books of the Black Dagger Brotherhood it seems to be written for the more 'mature' reader because of strong adult themes, language, graphic sex, and graphic violence. There are horror elements in this book.
