I enjoyed the movies of this series so decided to read the books when I found some of them at the second-hand book store. This was a quiet, sweet story of a family in pioneer times and how two widowed people find love together. The simple faith of the father made for relaxing reading, although the dialect writing was a little wearing after a while.

This book got me thinking. Who are the people who have changed my life? What course would my life have taken without them in it? I thought this book was amazing, but I do think that it is more for the over 40ish ;) than those 20 yr olds out there.
