WOW! I absolutely LOVED this book! I loved the romance, the action, the quips and dialogue back and forth between the brothers (and with Butch, hilarious), and I loved watching Wrath's and Beth's relationship develop. I kept picturing Brandon Lee on steriods as my Wrath and Megan Fox as my Beth (I need to figure out how to add pictures into posts here). This being my first paranormal romance, I know I'm being spoiled, but I'm so glad I've started with this series. I've already added the rest of the series to my TBR shelf as well as a lot of others in the genre. It was interesting and a great change of pace to read about an alternate society with it's own rules and customs. I'm anxious to read the rest of the brothers' stories as well as learn more about their world. Since I'm from Boston, I can't help but have a special place in my heart already for Vichous with his Red Sox cap and Butch from Southie :-) Zsadist's story has GOT to be fascinating. There's definitely something underneath all that bravato, rage, and pain. Next up, Rhage's story, whom I'm already in love with :-)

I read this on the bus ride home yesterday. If you like existentialist works, this is one of the best I've ever read. And if you enjoyed this, you should really check out Woman in the Dunes by Kobo Abe. It's similar thematically but also has a lot to add to the ideas you can find in The Trial. It also has the advantage of a more engaging plot than the Trial, although I know that a lot of the tedium in The Trial is purposeful. Still, you don't just read books for the message, but also entertainment. Not to say that The Trial wasn't entertaining, but that The Trial was just long enough for you to feel a bit antsy for the end.
